Brattin Plan

Strategic plan to promote new jobs and lower taxes in our district.

Let's "show" the rest of the country how we Missourians do things around here, and that we The People don't need government regulations and interference to do what we can do better for ourselves.

Promote Job Growth   Promote Job Growth and Small Business
In order for our state to come out of this horrible recession, our #1 priority must be to get Missourians back to work again. And by lowering and even eliminating some of the ridiculous taxation, red tape and regulations on our businesses, we can do that. It won’t be through  government programs or extending unemployment indefinitely, but through getting off of the backs of the businesses.

Control Government Spending   Lower Your Taxes and Government Spending
As a Conservative, I believe in a lower tax burden on all citizens. Currently we have a "progressive" tax code and I believe we must do something different. The reason I believe in lower taxes is because it lowers the cost of goods and services, increases economic activity, and expands job opportunities. Increasing the tax burden on the "wealthy" will result in the cost passed to the consumer.

Improve Our Transportation   Improve Our Roads and Transportation
One of the few responsibilities of our government is to build and maintain roads, bridges, and infrastructure. Due to the budget shortfalls, some are talking about proposing increased in sales tax, fuel tax, and even toll roads on higways we already paid to build. We must look into new ways to streamline our roadways while at the same time making sure that taxes and costs remain minimal.
